Overview

MISA Dining & Listening Room, nestled in the heart of Lanang, Davao City, offers a refined experience that marries exquisite Japanese cuisine with an immersive musical ambiance. Situated on the first floor of West JBT Land & Realty Corp. Building, this restaurant brings more than just food to the table — it invites guests into a curated sensory journey where taste and sound converge.

At MISA, the menu features standout dishes that appeal to both traditional palates and adventurous diners. The gyoza bursts with a superb filling, perfectly complemented by its dipping sauce, making it an irresistible starter. Equally notable is the tender pork belly, glazed tableside to highlight its rich flavors and impeccably cooked texture. For those seeking a unique twist, the triple mushroom ravioli enriched with bone marrow provides a luxurious depth that invites savoring every bite. The seared tuna appetizer and yuzu cream cheese add brightness and balance to the lineup, while desserts like the Melona melon ice cream and matcha tiramisu offer a refreshing and creamy finish without overwhelming sweetness.

The space itself defines a modern yet sultry aesthetic. Its spacious layout ensures a comfortable dining experience where music plays a crucial role. An extensive vinyl collection—ranging from vintage classics to contemporary tracks—sets the perfect tone and elevates the atmosphere rather than overpowering it. Guests have noted the thoughtful sound system and the carefully controlled air conditioning that adds to the comfort. This is not just a place to eat; it’s a venue to enjoy culinary and auditory pleasures in harmony.

Service at MISA complements the overall experience. Attentive and knowledgeable staff guide guests through the menu and even the daring choice to craft personalized cocktails through a creative card-drawing method adds an element of playful sophistication. This interactivity and the well-balanced cocktail and mocktail selections deepen the sense of occasion, serving a clientele that appreciates quality, creativity, and a touch of exclusivity.

MISA Dining & Listening Room appeals especially to those who value a complete dining experience—food lovers who enjoy sharing and exploring diverse flavors, music enthusiasts who appreciate a curated soundscape, and anyone seeking a stylish yet welcoming environment for an evening out. Whether attending special listening sessions or simply savoring the thoughtfully prepared Japanese dishes, visitors leave satisfied by both the generous portions and the ambiance that invites relaxation and connection.

Good food and good vibes. Food was so tasty and in portions that are enough for sharing. Assortment was quite eclectic, so you can have a bite from different cuisines. Place was quite spacious and with a great sound system, which definitely elevated the ambiance. Definitely leave room for drinks! Be a little daring and try your hand at drawing cards to design your own drink. Our group all enjoyed the combinations we got

Great listening space with an extensive collection of vinyls, both vintage and new music. Went on a Monday evening and it had a lighthearted feel good energy, started empty and slowly filled up with diners— all the food ordered is delicious, flavourful, and super generous portions. Great quality ingredients, and I highly recommend the bone marrow ravioli, and the matcha tiramisu!

Amazing high quality Japanese cuisine and drinks in a very aesthetic space. I loved the varying music and the service was phenomenal with attentive and knowledgeable servers. Highly recommend the Gyoza, Wagyu Gyudon, Wagyu Short Rib just to name a few. Will definitely be returning!

The food was very good. They first served the Gyoza and the filling was superb, then the sauce matches it very well. When the pork was served, the waitress poured the glaze and I just couldn't wait to eat it. The pork was cooked perfectly and it was nice and tender. And the desert that we had was the Matcha Tiramisu, and it was so creamy and good. It was not that sweet, so my tummy always has room for dessert as I devoured it. The vibe in the restaurant was so sultry and classy. I loved listening to music while eating my food. Overall, I would give this place a 5/5.

Amazing hidden gem in Davao. Off the beaten track and so glad to have found it. Owner has a knack for records and sound systems. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Food was awesome (tried a couple of dishes since it was late night). And drinks were great too!

The place is stunning inside. I really love the interior and the overall vibe of the place. One thing I didn't like though was the volume of their music. We came here on valentines and i was expecting a very chill and romantic vibe, but the music was too loud for my liking. It ruined the romantic atmosphere of the place. You can't relax because you'd have to speak louder just so that you can converse with the people you're with. In terms of service, I was a bit disappointed because since it was Valentines Day, we were asked to order ahead so the cooks can prepare our orders beforehand and we did just that, but when we got there, we had to wait for probably more than 15mins for our dish to get served. Not to mention the order of our friends which was served almost an hour after we got there. Now for the food...if you're not used to fine dining, you'd definitely find the place expensive and not worth it because the serving size is quite small even though it's stated on the menu that the food is considered one of their "big plates", but if you're a foodie like me, I can definitely say that the taste of everything we ordered did not disappoint. Everything was full of flavor and well seasoned and I cannot begin to explain each and every flavor of the dishes that were served. Just take my word for it. The food is delicious. Just make sure to eat a lot someplace else before coming here to chill with friends. It's a great place to catch up with friends over drinks because their cocktails pack quite a punch, but I wouldn't say it's a good place to go get dinner and expect to be full. Overall, would definitely come back!

Had our dinner date last night. Didn't expect to have a place like this so close! The service is top notch and the drinks will never disappoint. Their Japanese "fusion" cuisine has a lot to offer and the ambiance is romantic with the jukebox you can actually operate. Overall, our experience is wonderful and will surely comeback for the drinks!
